I was seeing that having the account ID added was a solution, but hadn't seen that it doesn't really fix anything.  It's probably better to download the database separately and just disable the download in the updater until a better fix is in place.

It looks like they may have implemented a fix in the tests-passed branch (I think we use the stable branch, don't we?) as of July 30.  There's also a note that they did put a patch in that branch for not having maxmind-related failures blow up the rebuild.
