And nowadays we have the GeoIP feature that'll send most people to regional redirectors too, to lower latency. So, many shouldn't be reaching download.o.o/downloadcontent.o.o as often as before having regional MirrorCache instances. 2023-10-10T20:09:41 oh, ok 2023-10-10T20:20:18 jshand: Your biggest problem is that you're in NZ, where there's only a couple of mirrors that provide Tumbleweed updates. They both aren't up to date, which means that they are public mirrors. If they were registered mirrors, they would have the updates available even before snapshots are officially announced. Also, the landscape doesn't look that good acros AU for Tumbleweed users either. So, in general, whenever there's a new 2023-10-10T20:20:18 Tumbleweed snapshot, you have to be patient until the closest mirrors get sync _post_ official release :~/ 2023-10-10T20:32:47 yeah. wish i could get a hold of those mirror operators 2023-10-10T20:41:27 jshand: You can find out which mirrors here: https://mirrors.opensuse.org/. Then finding out a contact email isn't hard, after visiting their site. 2023-10-10T20:45:35 does the mirror selection only select the country you are in, or can you change that 2023-10-10T20:48:59 jshand, edit the repo files, or just create a hosts file entry, ip of the mirror and pointing at download.opensuse.org 2023-10-10T20:50:12 malcom: how do i do this with yast? 2023-10-10T20:51:10 jshand, just edit the hostname in YaST for a mirror you want to stick with 2023-10-10T20:52:12 jshand, but just use the au mirrorcache? 2023-10-10T20:52:34 what file do i need to edit 2023-10-10T20:53:17 The `/etc/zypp/repos.d/*.repo` files 2023-10-10T20:55:38 In this case, they'd have to first find out what's the closest and most reliable mirror in AU/JP. 2023-10-10T20:55:57 oh, ok. just found that. thanks 2023-10-10T20:56:01 will look into that 2023-10-10T20:57:02 But honestly, if I were your shoes I'd just be patient for the mirrors of your region to sync. 2023-10-10T22:50:00 *** teepee_ is now known as teepee
